Blue Eyes

A wide pedestal vase with a rectangular upper body, heavily ridged surface and two circular perforations positioned at the far ends like eyes. Radiating incisions surround each opening, while a mottled blue glaze settles across the horizontal relief. The kiln ceased producing ikebana vases last century, although surviving examples occasionally become available.

Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
