A sharply geometric vase composed of intersecting triangular planes around a deep asymmetrical well. The restrained matte-black finish emphasises the folded construction, crisp edges and low architectural silhouette. This was one of the best selling models of a now-defunct ikebana kiln in Tokoname.

Japan Modern recently interviewed the last CEO of this family kiln and he reminisced how this was one of their best selling models due to the wide open aperture providing good utility whilst the container looks different from every angle you look at it. He personally designed it himself and was very proud of this achievement.

Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time. The photographs provide further detail on the individual character and condition of the piece.
