Beige Yacht – Labelled
An elongated sculptural vase built around a large elliptical opening, with a central cylindrical well and two small supporting feet. The softly mottled beige glaze emphasises its sweeping orbital construction. The original kiln label remains attached.
This was a long selling abstract model from a now-defunct ikebana kiln which also made the iconic bison vase and baby dinosaur. Their forms defined an era of modernism in ikebana vases of last century. Many kilns copied this iconic yacht form but this is the original.
Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time. The photographs provide further detail on the individual character and condition of the piece.
