White Totem

A tall dual display columnar ceramic vase composed of stacked geometric sections and finished in white. Its block-like construction and uncompromising verticality give it a strong brutalist presence.

This is a dual display vase designed by Sofu Teshigahara. It can be used upside as a tall nageire or the suiban well can be used facing upwards for arrangements with a kenzan. A kanji of his name is stamped on the well interior. This is an iconic model by the founder of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana. Production of these stopped decades ago. This is a rare survivor model. Please read dimensions - it is large. This model was only made in black or white.
