Black Pram

An architectural ceramic container with an angular, pram-like silhouette and matte charcoal-black glaze. Its digital block-like construction and stepped profile give it a strong brutalist character. This now-defunct ikebana kiln from last century had the most avant-garde designs in the market. Their visual designs range covered the full spectrum including but not limited to science fiction, biomorphic, modernist, medical device-like to the outright strange and even ridiculous. Japan Modern usually keeps vases from this kiln in the private vase archive but I have one of these models already so am letting this model to go a person who can covet this wild strange piece. Where in the world will it go and who will it be?

Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time. The photographs provide further detail on the individual character and condition of the piece.
