Black Block

Black Block

A compact black pedestal vase with a heavy geometric body and sharply defined opening. Its dense proportions and restrained finish give it a brutalist presence. The sharply formed triangular legs keep the well off the surface in a very modernist fashion. There is also a stamped gemoetric motif surrounding the well fascia circumference. The artisan mark is present on the base - it was made by a Kyoto based kiln with a long history of making ikebana vases.

Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time.
