Yellow Parent & Child With Box
Designed by Sofu Teshigahara, founder and first Iemoto of the Sogetsu school, this sculptural vase pairs two smooth, bulbous forms in the second iteration of his Parent & Child design. The earlier version was smaller and faceted. We have encountered this model in black, white and baby blue, but this is the first yellow example we have seen. The base bears a stamp with one kanji from Sofu’s given name. It comes with its original, well-worn and battered cardboard box.
Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
