Turquoise Totem
Turquoise ceramic rises in a compact vertical composition of stacked and projecting forms. The saturated glaze draws attention to the unusual silhouette and changes in volume. Its assembled geometry has a playful, distinctly modernist character. Glaze has controlled crazing, the vase is manually incised by the artisan and it retains the original kiln sticker. Normally a pedestal vase just has a well perched on top of a single leg but this leg has 2 openings and has another well underneath.
Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time.
