A compact sculptural vase with a teardrop shaped body, folded corners and a large oval opening that suggests the form of a handbag. There is a second smaller circular aperture on the back. Mottled green, cream and dark glazing accentuates its asymmetrical construction. The vase is perched on very short feet which gives the appearance that the vase is floating. This was a long selling Shigaraki-ware form.
Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
