Black Rings
A matte black pedestal vase assembled from stacked offset circular rings around a narrow central body. The repeated discs create a strong mechanical rhythm and a silhouette reminiscent of an industrial component. The now-defunct kiln has stamped the base showing provenance. I see this form in the wild in Japan about once every 5 years.
Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
