Mustard Bell
Mustard Bell
A mustard vase with a broad curved body, raised on two tapered feet. The upper edge dips towards a wide central well, while each pointed end is pierced by two circular openings. Its heavily textured surface and mottled glaze accentuate the strong symmetrical construction. The original kiln sticker remains attached to the front fascia. This heavy piece was made by a now-defunct kiln on Tokoname. This is a survivor model modernist ikebana vase from last century which has generous proportions, weight and heavy glaze. Vases are not made like this anymore. This is a chance to own a piece which has last century's modernist aesthetic in spades.
Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
