An original Tokoname vase made by a now-defunct kiln, retaining its original kiln sticker. Tall intersecting planes twist around a narrow central body, opening into deep curved cutaways at the top and standing on widely separated angular feet. The asymmetrical construction presents a distinctly different silhouette from every angle and creates a strong sense of movement. Although the model was later reproduced by a Shigaraki kiln, this is an original Tokoname specimen.
Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
