Pink Linear

A low sculptural vase with a single continuous well bent into an offset, angular S-shaped profile. Stepped outer walls and short feet reinforce its constructed geometry, while vertical pink-brown striations run over a pale cream glaze. Kiln stamp is on the base. A signature period feature of old ikebana vases from the middle of last century was the tall naked (unglazed ankles), stubby feet lifting the well off the table and well fascias that appear to be overlap. This model features all of these era specific features and is peak modernist ikebana form.
