Green Snail
A sculptural green vase built around a deep spiral body and generous flower aperture. Its layered glaze and pronounced coiled form create a distinctive biomorphic, snail-like silhouette. Produced by a now-defunct ikebana kiln in Tokoname, this was a long-running and particularly successful model. During Japan Modern’s interview with the kiln’s last CEO, he recalled its enduring popularity among ikebanists of all levels, who especially valued the large, versatile aperture.
