Grey Halo

A rounded disc-form ikebana vase with a small offset flower aperture and softly compressed base. Fine grey striations radiate around the sculptural body, giving it an abstract, monolithic character. There is a slither of yellow radiating from the pierced hole in the middle which provides a visual point of interest. The reverse side of the vase is plain so the user has multiple options for vase display and utility. The original kiln sticker remains attached to the base.

 Japan Modern has seen this model 6 years ago in the original cardboard box and it was sold with a chain link to allow the user to hang through the centre hole and hang it off a hook in the wall as a wall sconce. The user could also apply the same utility by using string, rope or chain to do the same. 

Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time.
