Beige Mado

A highly coveted ikebana vase designed by Sofu Teshigahara for the Sogetsu School. Severe and uncompromising in modernist form, the elongated architectural vessel offers three distinct display orientations: horizontally with its twin apertures facing upwards, rotated vertically onto either end, or suspended from a wall using the hanging aperture incorporated into one leg. Finished in beige glaze, the form is particularly sought after by Sogetsu ikebana practitioners and collectors of Japanese modernist design.
