Brown Drum

Brown Drum

A dark brown ceramic vase with a slightly tapering drum-like body raised on short cylindrical feet. Rust-brown patches break across the coarse surface, with groups of short incised marks around the exterior and a broad circular well at the top. The well fascia appears to be constructed by a rounded slab and overlaps on purpose for a rustic aesthetic. This is quite an old, large and heavy piece. There are flea bites to the bottom edge of the well and priced accordingly.

Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time.
