Black Bird Pedestal Dish
A vintage Japanese cast iron bird whose rounded body forms an open dish. Could be used to hold paper clips or as a paper weight. A circular eye, pointed beak and flat, extended tail define the profile above a short pedestal foot. The dark, finely textured surface keeps the playful form visually simple.
Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, finish and patina variation, casting irregularities, mould seams, minor rust or oxidation, staining and other characteristics acquired over time.
