A pair of vintage Japanese cast iron owl bookends attributed to Tadahiro Baba, matching the openwork owl design documented by Japanese vintage dealers. Pointed ear tufts and circular eyes sit above diamond-patterned bodies and projecting feet. The dark casting frames the open spaces, giving these substantial objects a light, graphic presence. Sold as a pair.
