Slipcast ikebana vase with two eye-like apertures set within a broad architectural form. Horizontal striations run across the front fascia, while the interior reveals a complex network of chambers and contours beneath the surface. Finished in a satin black glaze with areas of age-related crazing visible both internally and externally. Raised on a substantial pedestal foot.

Produced by a now-defunct kiln that ceased ikebana vase production decades ago. Abstract forms, pierced apertures and cutaway openings were recurring elements within the kiln's avant-garde design language.

Vintage condition consistent with age. Firing variations, glaze irregularities and kiln effects are inherent to handmade ceramics.
