Rustic Pail Vase

Orthodox pail form inspired by the traditional Japanese bamboo water pail, reinterpreted in Shigaraki stoneware. Cylindrical slab-built studio pottery body with an integrated arched handle and a deeply cut asymmetrical opening. The slab slightly overlaps at the front of the vessel. Finished in a richly textured, speckled glaze that graduates from warm ochre to iron-red, revealing the rugged character and natural firing effects associated with Shigaraki ware.

A restrained, sculptural interpretation of a familiar utilitarian object, well suited to minimalist and nageire-style ikebana arrangements.
