Light Green Suiban

This light green suiban is assembled from intersecting planes and is perched on two splayed legs. The long fascias are oversized and have vertical striations across a controlled crazed body. The vase retains the original kiln sticker in the well interior. The base of the vase has extensive handwritten cursive calligraphy in gold font. This vase has “tall naked ankles” where the feet are left unglazed quite high up from the bottom of the feet. The pooling glaze where it ends before the unglazed feet become an accidental point of visual interest. This aesthetic is very typical of the bygone Show era where modernism ruled ikebana vessel form trends.
