Green Trophy

A tall green pedestal vase with a slender column and broad winged opening. The upper section sweeps outwards into two raised points, creating a trophy-like silhouette, while green and pale blue panels provide a sharp colour contrast. Made by a now-defunct Tokoname based ikebana kiln and retains the original kiln sticker and stamped to the base. This is a bold modernist form with crystal clear provenance. The Japan Modern team are currently working on a book project which will include interviews and historical information about this ikebana kiln and the iconic models they produced last century for various ikebana schools.

As a vintage piece, it may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks and minor staining. The photographs provide further detail on its condition and appearance.
