Green Whirlpool

A tall green vase with an angular rectangular body and a large circular opening that curls inward like a whirlpool. Dark glaze gathers within the recessed spiral, creating depth against the muted olive surface. Stamped to the base by the Japanese ikebana kiln which made it. This green and black series was a popular series they made last century. This model is particularly large, bold and heavy. Has strong brutalist presence which would juxtapose with a delicate floral arrangement or function as a bold modernist sculpture on its own.
