White Dual
A large, substantial dual-well vase made by a now-defunct Tokoname kiln. Two conjoined faceted wells rise to contrasting heights, creating a sharply geometric silhouette. Its proprietary faux-marble finish was developed by the kiln’s last CEO by blending multiple white glazes—a process he described in an interview with Japan Modern. This distinctive glaze appeared across several of the kiln’s vase series during the last century.
Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
