Brown Candle

A ver tall and heavy brown cylindrical vase punctuated by two circular appendages of contrasting scale. A smaller ring projects from the upper body, while a larger ring anchors the base, creating an asymmetrical geometric silhouette. The restrained form is finished in a finely textured, subtly mottled glaze. This vase was made by a Kyoto based artisan from a kiln with four centuries of firing history. Stamped accordingly to the base. Clear provenance would have cost a pretty penny when sold new last century.
