Green Swirl

A coveted Shigaraki-ware vase from the kiln’s long-running matte black and green series. One of its heaviest and most brutalist models, it is constructed from two oversized fascias sandwiched around a deep rectangular well and raised on a central cylindrical foot. Scored whirlpool motifs sweep across the broad faces, emphasised by a mottled green-black glaze that continues into the well interior.

Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
