Forest Oculus

A tall footed ikebana vase with a flared rim and strongly ringed body. Deep forest-green glaze pools across the horizontal ridges, while a band of raised rectangular panels introduces pale, earthy contrast. This vessel was made by a now-defunct Tokoname based kiln. This is a rare survivor model of what was once a ubiquitous form in ikebana circles last century in Japan.

Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time. The photographs provide further detail on the individual character and condition of the piece.
