Turquoise Blade
A long, sharply tapered ikebana container with a narrow recessed opening along the upper plane. Glossy turquoise glaze is divided by a sweeping cream section, giving the abstract form a fast, blade-like profile. This form was made by folding the clay bowl to narrow the aperture and creating two narrow apertures on both ends of the folded bowl. The large aperture can accommodate a kenzan.
Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks, minor staining and other characteristics acquired over time.
