White Fork
A long U-shaped ikebana vase with four polygonal apertures rising from twin extruded pipes. Made by a now-defunct kiln in Tokoname as part of its extruded pipe series — significant for its two-pipe, four-aperture configuration. To create a faceted hollow tube in clay, a hollow extruder die with a polygonal profile is used, the outer die forming the faceted shape and an inner core forming the hollow — the technique behind this sharp, continuous linear body.
Layered cream and white striations trace the extruded form, giving it a clean, architectural modernist profile. A rare large-scale variant from an iconic ikebana kiln of last century.
Vintage pieces may show signs of age and prior use, including surface wear, glaze variation, firing irregularities, kiln marks and minor staining.
